Ronny Tanvir is a Bangladeshi independent filmmaker and writer based in Bagmara, Rajshahi. Originally a poet and songwriter, Ronny’s deep love for cinema led him to transition into filmmaking, where he found a new language for his creative expression.

As a self-taught artist, Ronny acquired his knowledge of filmmaking through digital platforms and extensive online research. He is a firm believer in the "Mobile Filmmaking" movement, directing all his projects using only his mobile phone. This hands-on, trial-and-error approach has allowed him to develop a unique storytelling style that is resourceful, authentic, and deeply rooted in local narratives.

Ronny first gained local recognition with his five-episode short film series, Daku Shamsher. He has since directed several impactful short films, including Manush Manusher Jonno, Beautiful Mind, and Nobboi Doshok. His work has been celebrated on international platforms; his film TOGETHER earned 3rd Place for "First Film Short International" at the First Film International Festival 2025 in Tallinn, and was an Official Selection at the Kalakari Film Festival 2025 in India.
