My debut short film (as both screenwriter & executive producer) "A Fateful Weekend" has been selected to multiple film festivals, including the Academy Award-qualifying "LA Shorts International Film Festival." I am currently in pre-production of another short film titled "The Stranger."
As a screenwriter, my "Smoke and Mirrors" screenplay was a semi-finalist at the 2021 Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival. My "Post-Mortem Narrative" screenplay, a follow-up to "Smoke and Mirrors," was a semi-finalist at the 2022 Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival. My "Fate's Intervention" screenplay was an Official Selection at the 2022 Los Angeles CineFest Film Festival; they subsequently invited me to be a Guest Judge at the 2023 festival and a Special Guest at the 2024 festival. My three feature screenplays are based on my novels / novella of the same name (under my pen name Ronald Lamont). My "Smoke and Mirrors" novel was nominated for the CLUE Mystery & Suspense award for 2019. My "Post-Mortem Narrative" novel was nominated for the 2020 CLUE Award. My "Fate's Intervention" novella was a semi-finalist for the 2020 CLUE Award for novellas / novelettes. My screenwriting also includes a teleplay.
In my pre-writing career I performed federal "possible incident" investigations. I utilize these techniques in my mystery writings.
