Ronald Kaehler is a playwright, lyricist, and composer. His play POOR PLAYERS is a darkly comic supernatural horror story praised as "Darkly universal, a unique blending of horror, humanity, and Shakesperean theatrics" by Eric. C. Webb, Director of Creative Development at Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, NY.
Ron served as Executive Story Editor for the television series “Van-Pires” (Abrams-Gentile Entertainment), which was one of the earliest live action/animated series to utilize CGI technology. The show was rated No. 1 in its time slot in various domestic and international markets.
Ron is the librettist and co-lyricist of “A Country Christmas Carol” (Dramatic Publishing), a country music reimagining of the Dickens classic set in 1950s rural America. He also wrote six editions of “The Story Salad Shows”, musicals for children that toured the United States under the auspices of Theatreworks USA.
Ron has written songs and specialty material for many Broadway performers as well as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS benefits and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society’s Mr. Abbott Awards. His songs have been published (Midder Music) and recorded (Twisted Turtle Tinsel, The Best of In Celebration of Life).
Ron’s other current project is “Under the Overture”, an operatic farce for which he adapted the music of Rossini. The show was one of six finalists in the 2018 International Musical Entertainment competition in Munich, Germany. Highlights from the piece were presented October 2018 in New York under the direction of Gerard Alessandrini.
