Robin De Vernon Ryding is an award winning writer, director, and producer from Scotland, known for creating emotionally driven dramas and visually striking psychological horror films. A graduate of SAE Institute and City of Glasgow College with a BA (Hons) in Digital Film Production, Robin further developed his craft through training with NFTS, Raindance, and ScreenSkills before founding the independent production company Fulfilment Pictures in 2020.
His work often explores delusion, emotional isolation, and psychologically complex characters, Robin’s process has a strong focus on collaboration and performance development throughout the rehearsal process with his cast and crew.
His recent short film, Fatherhood, begins its international festival run in August 2026. Robin is also attached to direct ‘Initial Contact’ and the upcoming horror feature ‘Room 22’, the first installment in an interconnected cinematic universe created alongside Lauren De Vernon Ryding, which will later expand further through projects including Clean Cut.
A BAFTA member and Festival Director of the FP Arts Short Film Festival in East Kilbride, Robin remains passionate about championing emerging filmmakers and continuing to grow within the international film industry. His storytelling is heavily inspired by Big Fish, his favourite film of all time, alongside works such as Edward Scissorhands and Shutter Island.
