This vicious, inner city street of Las Vegas once crowned the name “THE VEGAS DON” to Robert Strawder Jr, Father, Politician, Hip Hop Artist, and Activist. His 2020 race for U.S. Congress (District 1) in Nevada gave way for one of many milestones in his life; The official title of “First Hip Hop artist to run for a United State Congressional seat. “Hip Hop Meets Politics” is the brainchild of Strawder along with Yvonne Rainey. Whose goal is to educate today’s Millennials and Generation Z demographics with enough intellectual knowledge to change the political course of this great country. “What we have in Congress are a lot of people who are out of touch with the reality most Americans face every-day. Robert is here to change that narrative” says the Vegas Don. “I know what it’s like to struggle, to not have enough for your family. I want people to know that they have the power to make change.” The Vegas Don travels through Las Vegas getting views from community leaders and peoples voice of struggle and change. This movement “Hip Hop Meets Politics” is an introduction to the hip hop community giving them understanding of political issues. While giving politicians, government officials, and law enforcement insight on how the public really feels about everyday issues.

Hello my name is Robert V. Strawder I am living in Las Vegas Nevada and this is my 1st movie I ever filmed it was very challenging, I lost half of the movie and had to reshoot footage that I had previously recorded. I would not take back the experience for anything though. "Checkmate Tha Movie" is a comedy drama with main characters Iree-Iree and A-town tell the story of an outta towner coming to Vegas trying to take over Sin City with his own plan and not follow the rules of Las Vegas life.
