I am an artist who works with film and time art projects. As a Korean/British American, born in Japan, I grew up in Arizona in the 1960s &70s which socially, had its challenges. Outside of homework, I spent most of my time in front of my family's TV set and Friday nights we went to the movie theaters and drive-ins. When I was old enough, I increased my escape to the movie theaters. I also developed a strong interest in making sound tape recordings and photography. I studied mixed media and experimented with video and photography in art school before moving to New York in the 1980s. There I became a freelance exhibition installer and art handler at nearly every major museum there (Guggenheim, MoMA, Brooklyn Museum, etc...) and many high end art galleries (Gagosian, Sonnabend, Louver, etc...). I worked with many artists like Mario Merz, Nancy Graves, Daniel Burin, Jenny Holzer, Donald Sultan, and others. As much as I learned and enjoyed my time with these painters, sculptures, and installation artists, my personal interests were only stimulated by the works of people like Nam June Paik, Harry Smith, Maya Daren, etc... Upon my return to New York ten years ago, I developed a strong interest in a collage approach to film and video and started documenting the experimental music and noise scene in Brooklyn. Based on the encouragement of artists I've met, I increased my focus on experimental film and sounds. My first project was a feature film called Fragmentstein, which won many awards in 2021/2022.
