Hi,

My name is Robert Cummins, and I am passionate about bringing stories to life with my friends and community in eastern North Carolina.

A few years ago, I swallowed my pride and started from scratch. I was making short films that I thought festivals and producers wanted to see, but it just wasn’t working. That’s when I decided to start having fun again.

It was then that I founded Dogma Cape Fear, a film collective of emerging filmmakers in eastern North Carolina. My first short with Dogma was only 1 minute long. My next, Origin Story, was 3 minutes, and I’ve been slowly working on my craft, expanding each film a little bit and focusing on my passion: science fiction.

With my current short film, The Hermit of Cape Fear, I aimed to highlight the beauty of our region, showcase our talented film crew, and explore a bit of local folklore.
