A prolific, seasoned, veteran actor, Robert has been a SAG-AFTRA member for 27 years and is a Voting Member of THE TELEVISION ACADEMY since 2011.
Robert has a rock-solid reputation among Casting Directors, Producers and Directors as an actor who brings his A-Game to every single project. Born and raised in the Bed-Stuy slum of Ward 7, in Brooklyn, NY, Robert has well over 50 guest star roles on network and cable, and has played numerous memorable characters, not only in those series but in a multitude of feature films as well.
Armed with a variety of dialects he’s perfected, Robert has guest starred multiple times for legendary producers David E. Kelley and Steven Bochco and was hired and directed by what is, literally, the “WHO’s WHO OF TV DIRECTORS,” such as DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter, David Nutter, Ryan Murphy, Daniel Sackheim, Christine Moore, Oz Scott, Tim Hunter, Michael Lange, Andy Ackerman, Rick Wallace, Dennis Smith, Bill D’Elia, et al. (Please see resumé for complete list)
A few random highlights, among many –
** Robert recently returned from Dallas, TX, the result of a phone call and direct offer from director Isaiah Washington to play the role of actor Kevin Gage’s brother “Carter” in Isaiah’s directorial debut in his period western CORSICANA.
** Robert is one of Jimmy Kimmel’s constant, straight-offer go-to guys for Jimmy’s random comedy skits on his nightly show JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE on ABC.
** Robert, an Irish/Italian Catholic from New York, landed the role, dialect appropriate, of the Israeli President in the Paramount/Skydance blockbuster “G.I. JOE:RETALIATION.”
** After G.I. JOE, an impressed Paramount/Skydance brought Robert onboard once again as a Main Cast co-star playing the coveted role of Army JAG Colonel Moorcroft alongside Tom Cruise in JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK. Legendary director Ed Zwick and Tom Cruise himself ‘signed off’ on Robert playing the role after the studio flew Robert to New Orleans for meetings.
** Robert’s next major outing on the big screen was playing Gotham City crime boss Stefano Galante, in the Warner Bros/DC Universe blockbuster BIRDS OF PREY, starring Margot Robbie, recurring her role as The Joker’s girlfriend Harley Quinn.
** Ryan Murphy hired Robert twice (so far): First for FEUD, and immediately after wrapping that project -- again for one of the most memorable, challenging and disturbing scenes in his series AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE (FX network) – in ep. 2 “MANHUNT”…the torture scene in the Miami hotel room, for which Robert was submitted for an EMMY.
** Following an astonishing amount of public recognition for the “…VERSACE” role, Robert was offered a very challenging role in the CBS hit series S.W.A.T., when the director of the episode “Kingdom,” Dave Rodriguez, called Producers and specifically requested Robert to play the role of the tortured “Wardlow.” (and a huge “THANK YOU” to the series Writers for their “Writers Room” Instagram-recognition of Rob’s performance)
** Following THAT incredible amount of network exposure on S.W.A.T., Robert was immediately offered yet another Top-of-Show Guest Star on USA Network’s THE PURGE. Ep. 205 “HOUSE OF MIRRORS” filmed in New Orleans, playing a “Ray Donovan-type-fixer.”
Other notable highlights, among others too numerous to list here:
** SETH ROGEN hired & directed Rob TWICE within 4 weeks for 2 different series: playing a West Texas State Trooper in SONY/AMC’s PREACHER, shot in New Orleans alongside Dominic Cooper & Oscar Best Actress nominee Ruth Negga –
and again as a Pasadena Police Lieutenant in SONY/Hulu’s FUTURE MAN in Los Angeles.
** As for recent comedy, Robert was hired by sit-com creator Charlie Day to play alongside comedy legends Vickie Lawrence, David Alan Grier, Martin Mull and Leslie Jordan in FOX’s THE COOL KIDS.
