Robert Breedlove brings stories born from the Alaskan digital frontier - MMOs, tech, and the people who built early online culture. Filmmaking rooted in lived experience, blending character, chaos, and the rise of a world that changed everything.
Robert Breedlove is a screenwriter whose work is rooted in lived experience from the late‑90s/early‑2000s Alaskan digital frontier - the birth of MMOs, early online economies, and the chaotic rise of a world that reshaped how we connect.
In the late 90's, Robert opened and operated Surf City, one of Alaska’s earliest internet cafe's. What began as a small-town tech outpost quickly became a hub for competitive gaming, digital item trading, and the first generation of kids living part of their lives online. Between Coast Guard duty, overnight LAN parties, and the collapse of the dot‑com bubble, Robert found himself at the center of a cultural shift no one yet had words for.
His autobiographical feature screenplay Surf City captures that world with humor, grit, and emotional clarity - a true story about ambition, collapse, community, and the strange magic of building something from nothing in a snow‑choked corner of Anchorage. It’s a grounded, character‑driven biopic about the last analog kids becoming the first digital adults.
Robert’s writing blends authenticity, ensemble storytelling, and a deep respect for real people and real places. His background as a systems architect and producer informs his approach: disciplined workflows, clear communication, and a commitment to creative integrity.
Now based in Winter Park, Florida, Robert is focused on bringing Surf City to the screen and is actively seeking investors, collaborators, and representation for the project. The script has already gained traction in multiple competitions in the Non‑Fiction/History category, reflecting its strength as a true‑story feature with commercial and emotional appeal.

“Legacy isn’t what you build. It’s what survives when the power goes out.”
“Don’t mistake chaos for failure. Sometimes it’s just Surf City on a Tuesday.”
