Rob Sorrenti is an award-winning British director, writer, and producer. He is renowned for his critically acclaimed short films and documentaries. Rob’s productions, including work with Oscar-nominated/winning directors Stephen Daldry, Paul Greengrass and Christopher McQuarrie, entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson and actor Tom Cruise have reached millions of people globally.
DOCUMENTARIES
In 2019, Rob directed and produced Ocean Unite’s 30x30 environmental campaign film. The film is narrated by Sir David Attenborough and features Sir Richard Branson and Shailene Woodley.
The film premiered when Sir David Attenborough was awarded the 2019 Chatham House Prize by Her Majesty The Queen. The film was introduced by Shailene Woodley and was later released online to widespread acclaim.
In 2018, Rob directed the story of the Kodiak Queen, a decorated WWII warship that survived Pearl Harbour, transformed into an artificial reef and dive site by Sir Richard Branson. Narrated by Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, the film reminds us of the momentous task that lies ahead in restoring the British Virgin Islands after the destruction of Hurricane Irma.
The Kodiak Queen was shared with a global audience by Sir Richard Branson on social media, as well as being distributed by Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Media. It is currently on the film festival circuit and has been officially selected for over 20 film festivals, winning numerous awards including the ‘Green Planet Award Grand Prize Short’ at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and ‘Best of Show’ at the Impact Doc Awards (2019).
SHORT FILMS
Rob’s short film, Hollow, is a sensitive observation about the nature of addiction, exploring the idea that love isn’t always enough when it comes to getting clean. Hollow has been officially selected for over 30 film festivals and received several awards. Among those are three awards at the Oscar accredited Rhode Island International Film Festival (2011) including the coveted ‘Filmmaker of the Future’ award. Hollow also won ‘Best Short Film’ at the European Spiritual Film Festival (2012) and the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival (2012).
Rob’s short film, Wednesday, is the story of a girl and boy born on the same day, at the same time, in the same hospital, whose paths cross again years later in the very same place. The film was executive produced by four-time Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry and supported by Working Title Films. Wednesday was selected for over 50 film festivals worldwide and received several awards, including ‘Best Short Film’ at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival (2007), ‘Best International Film’ at the Garden State Film Festival (2007) and ‘1st Jury Prize’ at the Short Cuts Film Festival (2007).

In addition to his films and documentaries, Rob has worked with the world’s most respected film studios delivering innovative, cinematic, behind-the-scenes films.
Feature films that Rob has worked on include United 93 (2006), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Jason Bourne (2016), The Mummy (2017), Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018), Little Women (2019), El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019) and News Of The World (2020).
Many of Rob’s films have gone viral. These include the behind-the-scenes trailer for Little Women, and three featurettes for Mission: Impossible – Fallout, showing Tom Cruise in action; one of which won a ‘Gold Clio’ award.
