A Saturday Pass will get you access to every screening and event that is on Saturday, July 18. Including narrative and documentary features, shorts, and our Hometown Filmmaking Panel at The Otto Bookstore.

A Sunday Pass will get you access to every screening and event that is on Sunday, July 19. Including documentary, narrative, short, and feature films, as well as our Art of Film Publicity Panel.

Our opening night block will feature two Pennsylvania stories.

During the Baby Scoop Era of post-World War II, millions of unwed mothers around the world were forced to give up their babies for adoption. For many of these children, the legacy of their adoption during this time is one of shame, guilt, and loneliness. Laced with melancholy, intrigue and joy, Il Mio Posto a Tavola follows one man’s journey of discovery, in what is ultimately a love story to family.

The Dying Business Synopsis
Frank Jr. wants to retire and pass on his funeral home on to his sons, Bradley and Frankie III. But with their business suffering from a declining population, the rise in cheap cremations, and government overreach, they must find a way to innovate in order to survive. Three teens living in 2004 Delaware County, PA attempt to shed their goody-two-shoed nature for one night to become mischief makers.

Raging Midlife Synopsis
Alex and Mark are two midlifers on a quest to recover a tanktop from their favorite 80s wrestler "Raging Abraham Lincoln." Hot on their tails is Alex's sister Mindy, a big game hunter known as "Bald Eagle Killer" who blames her older brother for leaving her burnt and bald at Wrestlemadness III. After being outbid at an online auction, Alex and Mark go on a series of heists to beat Mindy to the prize and out of the hands of the winning bidder,Tyler Roberts, a grieving daughter hoping to satisfy her father's dying wish to be torched in the fabled tanktop and sent to Valhalla in a watery grave. After an unexpected and romantic encounter with Tyler, Alex must decide whether to forsake the most exciting woman he's ever met or the greatest trophy in entertainment sports history. A truly groundbreaking docu-drama, 'Rotten Apple' is an alarming exposé on the dark epidemic of grooming and sexual assault in public schools and the eminent ripple effect.

The Witchdoctor and the Windmill Synopsis
“The Witchdoctor and the Windmill” explores the life of the Pintupi artist, Linda Syddick Napaltjarri. After her father’s death in a revenge spearing, Linda came in from the Pintupi homelands and was taught to paint by her adoptive father Shorty Tjungurrayi.

Her insistence she had Shorty’s permission to paint his stories cast her as a maverick and led to a rift between family and community. This film explores the personal and community struggles and larger themes of colliding cultures as the Pintupi confronted new and bewildering intrusions into country; atomic testing, art as gestalt for grief, fractured families, and loss of country. Linda’s paintings are visual records of first contact in the 1940s as the Pintupi began their first encounters with White Australia. As the first Pintupi Modernist and last senior female artist of her era, Linda’s stories are unique portable heritage of our national memory and signal the dynamic nature of the Dreaming.

On Borrowed Time Synopsis
After losing weight and reinventing himself, medical student Marty Becker secretly reconnects with the woman who three years earlier broke his heart and who doesn't recognize him, only to find his quest for revenge turning into a journey of self-discovery.
