The 48 Hour Film Challenge is a fast-paced, weekend-long event designed to spark creativity and bring local filmmakers together. Teams will have just 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film, which will then be submitted to the Ripley County Film Fest as part of a special submission category.

This challenge provides an exciting opportunity for both beginners and experienced filmmakers to put their skills to the test in a collaborative, time-sensitive environment.

Rules & Terms

Dates: April 24-26
Kickoff Event: Friday April 24 at 6:00PM
Film Length: 3-7 minutes
Team Size: No limit on team members
Submission Format: MP4 or MOV, 1080p resolution
Entry Fee: $50 per team. No team? - no problem. This year individuals are invited to sign up and join a team. Individual entry fee: $20.
Final Screening: Films will be screened during the Ripley County Film Fest, June 2-6, 2026
