Richard Bakewell, an award-winning Director and Director of Photography, attended Columbia College Chicago with a concentration in Cinematography. In 2003 Richard founded the film and television company LIGHTFORCE PICTURES.
Richard has spent the last 19 years tenaciously working as a Director, and Director of Photography for commercials, branded content, narrative films, corporate, music videos, and documentaries. Richard and his Production Team have received over 20 Awards commending their work in Film & Television.
Currently Richard is directing and producing a documentary called Living With The Silence, about families who have lost a child from police brutality, and just wrapped principle photography on a 1980s throwback psychological Sci-Fi feature film with an all star 80s cast as well as a batch of rising stars called Roswell Delirium.
Every film I make is inspired what the greats have done before. My films tell the hero's journey about a flawed character, giving hints of humor along the way to make you fall in love with the protagonist, and in the end come grieve for them as they like us sometimes never had a voice, never felt they deserved love, or stood a chance in this world.
My latest film Roswell Delirium is a love letter to everything there ever was about the 80s, and the forefront of the film may be about aliens but in the end it truly is about mental illness a topic that few filmmakers ever want to acknowledge.
