The ResCinema project aims to explore the relationship between cinema — from the perspective of both the filmmaker and the viewer — and memory. This is achieved through the rediscovery and restoration of films, as well as the use of archival material in contemporary cinema. The initiative includes screenings, seminars, and educational activities.

As part of the project, a short film competition is being held, open to both documentaries and fiction works that make use of archival footage, either in whole or in part.

The event is organised by the associations Camera Film and ART33, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, and is supported by the Campania Region and the Film Commission.

Awards & Prizes

The jury reserves the right to award, in addition to the Best Film prize, special mentions in specific categories.
Winners will receive a commemorative plaque.

Rules & Terms

Films must not exceed 20 minutes in length.
There are no restrictions regarding the filmmaker’s age or the year of production.
Submissions must be in 1080p resolution and in MP4 or MOV format (H.264 codec).
Files should be sent via file-sharing services (e.g. Dropbox, WeTransfer, 4shared, etc.).
All submitted materials will be retained in the festival’s historical archive.

Notification of selected works will be sent via email and published on the festival’s website one month prior to the event.
Each submission must be accompanied by a completed Registration Form.
The decisions of the selection committee and jury are final.

By submitting their film, the filmmaker authorises ResCinema to screen it publicly during the festival and at other related events.
