Rémy LAFAURIE is a French director, producer, and screenwriter, born on October
19, 1996, in Toulouse (31), who grew up in Aveyron in Villefranche-de-Rouergue.
At the age of 7, Rémy started creating his first animated films with Lego & Playmobil toys using the family camcorder. Encouraged by his father, he shared his stories on Youtube, becoming part of a real community of young creators.
Furthermore, his childhood was marked by collaborations with friends on amateur
fictions inspired by his favorite films, providing a platform for expressing his passion for Drawing, Literature, and History. In 2015, after graduating from high school, he continued his journey in Montpellier (34), studying Cinema at the University Paul Valéry before joining ACFA Multimedia, from where he graduated in 2018.
During this time, he gained knowledge in writing, image, sound, and editing,
exploring various formats such as Cinema, Audiovisual, TV spots, Directing,
Documentary, Reportage, and Clips. In his first-year film "LES RUINES DU TEMPS," Rémy showcased his skills, which still resonates in national and international
festivals, earning him several awards, including the latest at INDEPENTARRN in Couffouleux. "LES RUINES DU TEMPS" is available on the streaming platform SOFA vod. In October 2017, he collaborated as a cameraman and electro for the Nîmes-based production company Kprodz, giving rise to the web series “NEMAUSUS,” which gained worldwide success.
In October 2018, Rémy founded his micro-enterprise SEMALOU-STUDIO, producing:
• Music videos, event recordings (weddings, concerts, plays, or municipal
events in Montpellier),
• Show teasers, equestrian stages, a world pétanque competition,
• Self-produced fictions such as "JE SUIS LA GÉNÉROSITÉ" for the Nikon Film
Festival 2018, "LES ENFANTS DU DOCTEUR TREVES," or "CÉRÉALES KILLERS."
In 2019, Rémy collaborated as a second camera operator for the short film
“CHEYENNE” by Gérard Croporon, featuring actor Jeremy BANSTER. In 2020, he
produced political, musical, and theatrical recordings in Villefranche-de-Rouergue,
dedicating time to his latest project, "LA PRIÈRE DU MESSAGER," a direct
sequel to "LES RUINES DU TEMPS" and a prequel to the saga "LA LÉGENDE DES
OCÉANS." The cast includes:
• Henry Cohen, known for his roles in "TAXI 4" and the French TV series
“DEMAIN NOUS APPARTIENT,” “UN SI GRAND SOLEIL,” and “CANDICE RENOIR.”
• Olivier Brun, with roles in films such as “LA SALAMANDRE,” “L'ÉLECTRON LIBRE,” “LAISSER PASSER,” “CRIME EN AVEYRON,” and who also dubbed Andrew Garfield in the film "99 HOMES," as well as having secondary roles/silhouettes in STAR WARS ROGUE ONE.
Rémy continues to expand SEMALOU STUDIO throughout France and contrib-utes to promoting the cultural life of Aveyron through his involvement with "AVEYRON UNE TERRE QUI TOURNE" and “ATELIERS DE LA FONTAINE,” where he has the opportunity to educate young audiences about art and audiovisual expression. Since May 16, 2022, Rémy has been employed in a permanent posi-tion as Assistant Director Projectionist at the REX cinema in Espalion (12) for VEO CINEMAS, where he received training in projection, cinema management, and film programming. He also worked as a leader/director of extras in his hometown on July 20, 2022, for the NETFLIX series "All the Light We Cannot see.
