After years of work as an actor, producer, and teacher of acting, directing film was a natural transition for Rebekah. For the past two years, Wiggins has been working with actors on a weekly basis teaching the Chubbuck Acting Technique. It is through teaching that she discovered her passion and gift for directing.
As a passionate storyteller, Rebekah is drawn to female centric stories that bring to light diversity in filmmaking, showcasing various ethnic, religious, and sexual preferences. Despite her creative medium, her focus is always connecting people and communicating the reality and depth of the human condition. She recognizes that the films we watch can change the way we think about ourselves and the world around us. It is through the film experience that she has truly found her creative voice.
In 2017, Rebekah made her directorial debut with the short film Today, currently in post-production. The story follows a young woman faced with a unimaginable decision when her terminally ill mother asks her to end her own life. The film explores unconditional love and the complex layers of grief.
Her next project, the short film, Tiger, is currently in pre-production.
