Rebecca Mlinek chairs the Carver Center literary arts department in Towson, MD. She is the recipient of the 2021 WIFDC Jane Cusumano film finishing grant for the short FAMILIAR, a dark fairytale which she wrote and directed.
Rebecca is a 2019 Saul Zaentz Fellow and SZIF Screenplay Lab fellow, and the 2019 Roadmap Writers Top Tier winner.
SOMEBODY KILLED MOM, an audio drama which she wrote, directed and produced, is available on all major podcast platforms including Audible.
The first chapter of her upcoming novel was a 2022 honorable mention in the Craft First Chapter competition. Publication credits include F(r)iction Magazine, Hogarth Pulp, B(oink) Zine, Convivium Journal and Maryland Bards. She was also a finalist for the Tuscany Press prize in fiction, and the Francine Ringold Poetry Prize.
Rebecca is at work on several new projects, including her Nicholls Semi-finalist horror feature ALL MANNER OF THING, a collaborative fiction podcast project, and a short film centered on the intersection of religion and UFO encounters.
