Raman Irman, born on September 11, 1997, in Tabriz, Iran, is an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, editor, author, and independent cinema lecturer. He is the founder and lead educator of M&R Pictures Film School, and co-founder of the international production and distribution company M&R Pictures.
Raman gained international attention with his live-action short film Visualization (2022), which qualified for the 96th Academy Awards. At the age of 23, he founded the Kurdistan International Independent Film Festival, becoming the youngest filmmaker to establish and lead an international film festival.
He has authored two filmmaking books: First-time Filmmaker (2025) and the forthcoming Professional Filmmaker. His work has earned over 80 international awards.
In addition to his filmmaking, Raman is the creator of several international festivals and awards, including the MARPSA, Golden Eyes, Muzzle Awards, Mojo International Film Awards, and M&R Pictures Awards. Through his creative and educational initiatives, he continues to shape the future of global independent cinema.
