The 3rd Annual Raise the Vote! Music & Arts Festival is returning to Houston's East End at the Harrisburg Art Museum (HAM). Join us September 28, 12PM-7PM and enjoy two multi-genre stages, art contests, art installations, food vendors, low riders, a hip hop vintage flea market, skate jam, film screening and contest, and much more! The Houston Latino Film Festival is teaming up with Raise the Vote to bring the film contest and screening. Ten films will be selected and first place winner will receive $1000 and second place will receive $500. This will be a live event to show the importance of voting and what a difference the community can make.

As part of the event, we’re holding a contest for filmmakers to create a short film or commercial that will motivate people to vote. 10 films will be selected to screen in-person, and two of those films will win the 1st place prize of $1000 and 2nd place of $500. • All entries must have the theme of encouraging voting, and must remain neutral. Any films that promote any party, individual, or agenda will be automatically disqualified. Please only ENCOURAGE VOTING.

• All genres are accepted.

• All entries submitted must be 90 seconds or less.

• All entries submitted must be in final cut form and ready to download.

• All films must have English subtitles for all non-English language entries.

• You can use your phone, camera, or any equipment to create the film or commercial. We welcome artists of all levels to participate and showcase their creativity.

• All submissions must be received by the deadline, September 20, 2024. No late submissions will be accepted.

• A secure online screener link must be provided.

• Fee Waivers and Discounts for residents from Houston, TX. Request at films@houstonlatinofilm.com. Must show proof of residency.

• Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, and permits necessary to present their work. The Houston Latino Film Festival or Raise the Vote are not responsible for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, or royalty infringement related to the work.

• If your submission is accepted to the event, we will notify you via email with instructions for additional materials.
