Rachel’s feature script ALLIGATOR WOMEN was named a quarterfinalist in the 2021 Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Competition as well as a quarterfinalist in the 2021 ScreenCraft Comedy Competition. Her one-hour pilot OKEFENOKEE was selected as a 2021 semifinalist for The Black List/WIF Episodic Lab; the script additionally advanced to the Second Round in the Drama Pilot category in the 2021 Austin Film Festival screenwriting competition.
Rachel’s work is character-driven and features a robust blend of drama and comedy. While her particular specialty is female antiheroes that live and work in the South, her writing is also notable for its literary qualities and skillful treatment of complex family dynamics.
She holds an MFA in Writing from the University of Michigan and her writing has been published in Joyland Magazine, Jezebel, Virginia Quarterly Review, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and elsewhere.
