Richard Wareham Bio Bio
Born: Southampton, UK
Nationality: Dutch / English
Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
For much of his adult life Richard Wareham has worked as a freelance news, sport and stock photographer covering some of the worlds major sporting events with his work being published in media throughout the world. At the same time Wareham has moonlighted as an IMDB listed (background) actor.
In 2010 Wareham started making illustrations for the photo agents he was supplying using his extensive archive to create digital collages. His archive extends back to his schooltime and Wareham is not shy of using pictures he drew in infants school.
Around 2015 Wareham decided to take on an allotment vegetable patch on the outskirts of Amsterdam. At the same time learning a musical instrument. Soon Wareham started to write his own music.
In 2020 with the world in lockdown Wareham decided to learn to make animations from the collages he was creating. In much of this Wareham is autodidact. Learning from mucking around. Learning from playing and experimenting. Learning from failing and getting up again.
All of which has coalesced into “Grüntyers.” Idiosyncratic animations and music videos many of which created from, based upon or inspired from Wareham’s vegetable patch in Badhoevedorp. With added bonus that we can eat the subject matter.
