The Urban Adda Film Festival (UAFF) is a platform to showcase short films of under 5 minutes duration in the competitive section and 10 minutes in the non-competitive section, exploring themes around nature and climate resilience.

Films on either of the following subjects:
1- Nature and forests in urban spaces
2- Addressing challenges of pollution in cities

1. Student & Amateur Filmmakers
Prize: Trophy + ₹75,000 cash

2. Professional Filmmakers (Broadcast or OTT credits: Amazon, Netflix, JioCinema, Hotstar, etc.)
Prize: Trophy + ₹1,00,000 cash

. Eligibility Criteria:

For Short Film Competition:

• Open to Indian citizens only.
• Employees and family of employees of Raahgiri Foundation, Gurujal and Indigo Creative and International Council on Clean Transport are ineligible to participate in the film competition.
• Films must be produced after January 1, 2024.
• Must be original short films that are solution oriented with no overt political messaging, factual or fictional.
• Only one entry per director or producer.
• No political or religious messaging or defamation is allowed. Any film that is considered by the Raahgiri Foundation team to be hurtful to the sentiments of any group on political or religious grounds or to be defamatory will not be accepted.
• Remakes or dubbed versions are not accepted.
• Films must include English subtitles if not in English.
• Submission format: MP4 (Full HD 1920x1080), max file size 200 MB.
• Audio: Stereo. (Unmixed audio version with separate tracks for dialogue, narration, ambience sound, music and effects also need to be available if the film is shortlisted.)

1. Ensure the Google Drive link is accessible for download and remains live until December 31, 2025. Please write to film.comp@raahgirifoundation.org if you have any questions or clarifications.
2. Your entries will be accepted only after checks of technical and artistic quality and after you sign an undertaking that you have not used any footage, audio or any other material that you do not own the copyrights of. They will be deemed to have been accepted on your receipt of an email confirming acceptance by Raahgiri Foundation.
3. Shortlisted entries will need the applicant (director or producer) to have their entry film cleared by the The Central Board of Film Certification.

o Director’s bio and filmography
o Lead actors' bios
o Film stills (high-res)
o Poster (high-res)
o Director's photograph
o Full technical and artistic credits
Incomplete submissions will be disqualified.

Rights & Responsibilities:

By submitting, the applicant:
• Confirms ownership or permission to submit the film.
• Accepts full legal responsibility for use of all copyrighted materials (footage, sound, music, graphics).
• Indemnifies Raahgiri Foundation, Indigo Creative or any of their assigns against any legal action on account of improper or illegal use of unauthorised material in the film entered.
• Grants the Raahgiri Foundation non-exclusive, rights in perpetuity to use an extract of less than a minute on any existing media in the universe or any media yet to be invented.
• Agrees that the film may be archived and screened in future Raahgiri Foundation programmes.
• Accepts that the decisions of the festival jury are full and final and waives any and all rights to dispute the jury selections, legally or otherwise.

Screening & Technical Requirements
• Final screening material must meet broadcast-quality standards.
• All films will be screened in original language with English subtitles.
• If selected, the applicant agrees to provide replacement screening copies if needed.
• The festival will not be responsible for technical issues during the screening caused by the filmmaker’s submission.

Final Notes
• Once selected, films cannot be withdrawn from the competition.
• Participation implies full acceptance of these regulations.
• The festival director reserves the right to make final decisions on unforeseen circumstances and grant exceptions if necessary.
