  • Such an amazing honor to be selected and even more so to receive and award. Amazing communication from PyraMax and definitely one of the best run competitions out there.

  • Much has changed in the festival circuit since the pandemic. Laurels, once a mark of distinction, are now distributed with such liberality that they resemble candy tossed to entice filmmakers into proclaiming their “success.”

In truth, most festivals seem to lack a meaningful endgame beyond self-promotion and collecting entry fees. Allow me to clarify: for a true director, laurels are insignificant. What matters is genuine networking and meaningful exposure for one’s film. Everything else is mere minutiae. So, when Film Freeway asks, “How was your experience?” my response is straightforward:

Beyond an Oct 20th “You've been updated as an Award Winner” notification (which is the festival date), I heard nothing further. To be candid, I find it curious that such a question is (now) posed at all, as it seems more fitting for those whose films were actually included in the festival, even if there was a public screening.

Nevertheless, since you asked, there’s my answer.

  • Uma honra participar e ser premiado no Pyramax Film Festival.

  • Ian Charles Lister

I was greatly impressed by the individualised approach of this festival, with very clear communication throughout the selection process, including an in-depth review of my film "Lulu in Turin" which showed both appreciation and understanding of my work. This was all topped off by an award as best experimental feature film, for which I am truly grateful.

  • After reading about PyraMax Film Awards and how they aim to help filmmakers, I submitted my short film for consideration. I was thrilled to receive an official selection and completely shocked to win an award for “Best Action Film”. Their analysis of my film was spot on. I was thoroughly impressed with their time and efforts. It’s such a great festival!

A huge thank you to the amazing PyraMax team and judges! This means a lot to me! I’ll see you all again soon!
