NPK Purushotam is active in the Indian cinema industry since 2017, with a strong focus on indigenous, aboriginal and regional storytelling. He has written and directed 13 short films, including the acclaimed tribal short Bandha Khet, selected at prestigious festivals such as the Bangalore International Short Film Festival, Mariland Film Festival (New Zealand),Australia, VIFFP (South Korea), Folklore Kerala,Tata Samvaad etc. He has also directed two indigenous documentaries for the Jharkhand government. Dahleez is his debut Nagpuri language feature film. He did two tribal documentary films for state govt. He born and bought up at tribal village in Simdega - Jharkhand. NPK Holds two master and two bachelor’s degree along with UGC-NET qualified in Tribal and Regional languages. He worked as post production supervisor and assist. editor in Clapstem Production, Mumbai. He worked as copywriter at Varahe Analytics, Chennai and Mumbai based TVC company. He has worked with National Award winning director Girish Malik. Worked as Assistant Director and Editor in multiple Hindi Projects. Recently he received a cinema scholarship to pursue an MA in Filmmaking from London.
