Pulak Kumar Das is an Indian Independent Filmmaker based in Guwahati, Assam, India. He has completed his schooling from Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon, Guwahati and went to K.K. Handique State Open University for further studies. He has graduated in direction and acting from Assam Music and Film Institute, Rajgarh, Guwahati in the year 2018. He takes inspiration for his characters in his film from his day-to-day experiences. He made his directorial debut with the film RED in 2022.
His role model is Jahnu Barua, a well-known filmmaker, who is also from Guwahati, Assam. His dream is to make films based on societal issues and always try to convey a good message through his film and being a visionary person, he observes his surroundings and its people to have a unique storyline and believes that film is one of the strongest medium to get into the heart of the audiences. He has written many stories which are yet to be made into a film.
