International Award for the Best Short Film, promoted by the City of Bergamo and dedicated to the Italian director Ermanno Olmi, with the purpose of promoting of young filmmakers not older than 30 and their works.

Premio internazionale per il miglior cortometraggio, promosso dal Comune di Bergamo e dedicato al regista italiano Ermanno Olmi, con lo scopo di sostenere e promuovere le opere di giovani autori che non abbiano superato i 30 anni d'età.

The competition includes:
Ermanno Olmi 1st Prize: €1200
Ermanno Olmi 2nd Prize: €600
Ermanno Olmi 3rd Prize: €400

A special mention will also be assigned to the most significant film dedicated to theme “The Human Being and Time”. The theme chosen by the municipal administration for the special award is reflection on the relationship of the human being with time, a theme that Ermanno Olmi explored in various aspects throughout his film production. Olmi has dealt with the relationship of the individual with family history and collective history, the bond with the heritage of the places of birth and belonging; he has recounted the harmony with the rhythms of nature and the bewilderment that humanity and individuals experience when this is broken.
The winner of the mention will be awarded a cash prize worth €300 offered by FIC - Federazione Italiana Cineforum.

Il concorso prevede:
1° premio Ermanno Olmi: 1200 €
2° premio Ermanno Olmi: 600 €
3° premio Ermanno Olmi: 400 €

Verrà inoltre assegnata una menzione speciale all’opera più significativa che rifletta sul tema “L'essere umano e il tempo”. La tematica scelta dall'Amministrazione comunale per il premio speciale è la riflessione sul rapporto dell’essere umano con il tempo, un tema che Ermanno Olmi ha esplorato sotto diversi aspetti in tutta la sua produzione cinematografica. Olmi ha trattato il rapporto del singolo con la storia familiare e la storia collettiva, il legame con l’eredità dei luoghi di nascita e di appartenenza; ha raccontato l'armonia con i ritmi della natura e lo smarrimento che l’umanità e gli individui sperimentano quando questa si spezza.
Al vincitore della menzione verrà assegnato un premio in denaro del valore di 300€ offerto da FIC – Federazione Italiana Cineforum.

Rules & Terms

The Prize is addressed to filmmakers of all nationalities and not older than 30 on the date of the submission deadline. For joint submissions, all participants must meet the age limitation.
The maximum length of each entry (fiction, documentary or animation) must not exceed 15 minutes. All entries must have been produced in 2022 or 2023. Each filmmaker can submit a single entry. The submission of an individual and a collective entry at the same time is not allowed.

Il Premio si rivolge ad autori italiani e stranieri che non abbiano superato 30 anni di età alla data di scadenza del bando pubblico di indizione dello stesso. Nel caso di una creazione collettiva, tutti gli autori devono possedere il requisito di età.
Sono ammesse opere della durata massima di 15 minuti, di finzione, documentarie o d’animazione prodotte nel 2022 e nel 2023. Ogni autore può concorrere con una sola opera. Non è ammessa la contemporanea partecipazione con una creazione individuale e una collettiva.
