We understand sexuality in film as a cultural product and phenomenon that can be more than pure stimulation - a form of communication, politics and protest. With the film art festival Porny Days we use sexuality in film, music, performance, poetry as an activist and subcultural practice and as an artistic strategy to question social norms around sexuality and the body beyond the mainstream.

The discourse with the filmmakers and actors is very important to us. Therefore we try to invite as many protagonists and directors as possible to our festival and thus offer the audience the opportunity for a dialogue.

Awards & Prizes

Porny Days have a competitive short film section where the jury awards the "Porny Award" and the "Special Mention". This section accepts fiction, documentaries and animations.

There is also an audience award worth CHF 300 cash.

There is a CHF 600 cash prize for the winning jury film.

Rules & Terms

1: We only accept films aligned with our festival's focus, such as those exploring sexuality, the influence of pornography, gender issues, sex work, or sexual activism (please also read our manifesto -> https://pornydays.love/festival). In compliance with FilmFreeway's guidelines, mainstream pornography is not permitted. We seek films that provide both physical and intellectual stimulation, prompting reflection and discussion on societal views of sexuality. Our selection committee eagerly awaits diverse submissions encompassing all facets of sexuality.

2: a. Before the festival, we hold two open film discussions at the cinema, where we talk about our selection process with the audience. We randomly choose submitted films to discuss, fostering open conversations about pornography and sexuality. Your film may be featured in these discussions.

2: b. Additionally, we may use film excerpts for promotional purposes on our website.

3: One week after the festival, all short films screened during the event will be available for 14 days on Vimeo with password protection. This access is exclusively for our festival audience and intended for personal viewing only. Sharing the password or any unauthorized distribution of the films is strictly prohibited.
