The first edition of our festival was a great success. The small city of Castrovillari, in the heart of Calabria's hills, reacted very well to the screening. We had a crowded cinema full of people that were keenly interested in the films and gave us a nice Q&A session.

We're looking forward for an even bigger 2nd edition!

If you think you can qualify to be one of the next generation of cinema authors, submit! Screenings will take place in the 27th of december 2019 at Cinema Atomic Café in Castrovillari, in the heart of Calabria, where the best coffee in the world is made.

Had a great overall experience with the Pollino Film Fest. I was honored to have my short screenplay "The Seeker" be an official Selection. One thing to note is that feature and short screenplays aren't actually separated, and they are actually up for the same award. I asked because I thought the short category would have a winner and the feature category would have a winner. I clarified with Antonio via email and he said that the feature and short were running for the same award. They may want revise that for the future, but overall, totally worth it. Thanks Pollino!

I was honoured to hear that our film Maria's Silence won the Best of Fest Award (plus several other awards) and I am very sorry I could not attend the Festival this time... The communication was great and I liked very much that they asked me to provide a DCP file for optimal screening quality. Overall, I got the impression of an excellent Festival run by the authentic cinephiles, who are directors and screen writers themselves. Highly recommended to all film-makers interested in cinema as an art form.
