Peter was born in Australia and raised in Greece. Upon his return to Australia he obtained BA in Mathematics and Classical Literature. He continued his studies in New York where he obtained a BFA in film from Long Island University. His final degree is a MFA in Cinema from the University of Southern California.
He has worked as a cinematographer in documentaries, short films as well as feature films. In 2001 he shot and produced the emblematic film Still Looking for Morphine with his collaborator Yannis Fagras. The film earned the Greek Critics’ Award while screened at the 42nd Thessaloniki Film Festival. The film was also mentioned in the 75th honorary issue of Sight & Sound as one of the world’s secret cinema gems. His documentary The Forest Dances earned the audience award at the 2006 Video Platforma Festival.
Peter has worked in numerous countries (India, A Monk with a Camera, Sudan, The Hidden Gift, the Philippines, KAMO, and Alaska, Forget Me Not) shooting documentaries and feature films.
He has also directed the travelling series Fotina Monopatia (2nd cycle) for the Greek National Channel ET2.
He currently holds the position of Associate Professor in cinematography in the School of Film at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
