Peter John is an accomplished seasoned music / filmmaking professional with over 20 years in the industry.
Starting out at 19 playing guitar in an Australian Pop Punk band that toured relentlessly around Australia and some (international gigs) for 10 years. Peter also honed his filmmaking skills making music videos and live concerts for some of Australia’s premiere punk rock and alternative rock artists in this time.
In 2009 he decided to quit his band and pursue his love for filmmaking full time. Specializing in music videos, to this date he has completed over 100 and not looking to slow down.
With the help of key clips Bloom and Featherstone from ‘The Paper Kites’, Peter has amassed over 100 million views collectively on all his Music videos.
Known for his distinct style and ability to create amazing visuals with heartfelt story that take viewers on a journey that truly matches the songs vibe and atmosphere. He doesn't believe in massive crews or meddling pop record labels to ruin the connection between artist and director, but a unique collaboration that always gets what the song deserves.
In more recent times Peter has started working on bigger projects teaming up Charles Comeau from Canadian pop punk band Simple Plan to create a Definitive documentary on the history of pop punk featuring amazing artists, Simple Plan, MXPX, Goldfinger, We the Kings, Neck Deep, Finch, Tonight Alive, Acceptance, Anberlin, Good Charlotte and so many more...
He is also halfway through a Surf documentary on rising surf star Reef Haezlewood as he vows to qualify for the 2019 WSL CT Pro circuit. With mentoring from former world champion C.J Hobgood on his final year on tour and interviews from Kelly slater, Mick Fanning, Owen Wright and many more.
His latest project sees him team up once again with friends Simple Plan as they toured across the USA on the last ever Vans Warped tour. This is commemorative Live concert shot at over 26 cites and compiled to create a tribute to the longest serving traveling music festival. Due for release 2018.
