Worked as a photographer before making documentaries. Three books were published on his photographs: Bateau à Voiles (1989) The Passenger (1992) The Navigator (1996). Makes an appearance as ‘Himself’ in the short film ‘The Apologist’ in 2002, produced by 1968 Film Group.
He spent 10 years (2006-2016) working on his photographic & film essay on WW1, the Somme Project. The result of which produced 100 large Black & White traditional darkroom prints on the Somme landscape and a documentary film called 'On the Somme'.

A keen cyclist and fencer, made the short documentary The Fencers (2014) on his local fencing club.
Born in Chelsea, London and grew up in the once working class area of World's End, which is situated within the borough of Chelsea on the River Thames.
