I ventured into media production after earning my BSc in psychology from City University of London to explore my creativity. I taught myself how to operate a camera, drones, edit, and color grade videos, and create brand personas through visual design. I integrated my knowledge of subjective and intrinsic perception into filmmaking and screenwriting by shaping the viewer's experience with specific emotion-evoking visuals and sounds. Creative media has allowed me to delve deeper into concepts like Gestalt principles, color schemes, hierarchy, consistency, and typography while also building self-awareness and exploring my versatility.
I am a versatile filmmaker with seven years of experience as a director, producer, cinematographer, editor, and screenwriter. In addition to co-creating and directing "Rate The Date," a reality TV show for Accelerate TV (2020), I have completed commissioned documentaries at a government level, including projects for the Lagos State Resilience Office supported by the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100RC program. I have also written and directed a series of short films and created advertisements for local and international companies. My films have been selected for ten film festivals, earning two nominations: Best Director at the Standalone Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival for "Happy Hour" (2021).
My recent feature, which I directed and produced, is the intimate coming-of-age documentary "Boys On The Brink" (2022). It focuses on six boys aged 10-25 across six communities in Lagos, Nigeria. It won Best Documentary Feature at both the virtual Political Film Festival and the International Gold Festival in the US.
My ethos is edutainment through compelling and impactful stories, presented with vivid and aesthetically pleasing imagery.
