About
Stories that move people and stay with them.
Pet is a visual storyteller and director, working where film, photography, sound, and text meet. Her work often begins with listening, creating space for stories to unfold in their own time and form.
With a background in visual communication and experience across Europe, the Caribbean, South America, and Asia, she works across cultures with care, curiosity, and attention to context.
Her practice moves between documentary film, photography, theatre, and scriptwriting. She explores themes of identity, heritage, climate, and human connection, often shaped by her Dutch-Indonesian background and an ongoing interest in memory, belonging, and what is carried across generations.
Pet collaborates closely with communities, artists, and organizations, creating environments where people feel safe to be seen and heard. Her role is not only to document, but to translate lived experience into visual and narrative forms that feel honest and respectful.
Her work includes documentaries, campaigns, exhibitions, and written scripts, each rooted in real stories and human connection, with space for reflection and dialogue.
She is currently directing A Bell for Selibata-bata, in collaboration with Suzanna Mangar and the TELOR Foundation, a film about heritage, memory, and return.
Alongside her work, Pet remains committed to environmental awareness, cultural heritage, and strengthening communities through art.
