Possono partecipare al festival opere di finzione di qualsiasi genere, realizzate da autori di qualsiasi nazionalità, preferibilmente in lingua italiana o in caso contrario sottotitolate in italiano. Non saranno ammesse al concorso le opere realizzate prima dell’ anno 2024 o che hanno partecipato alle precedenti edizioni.
Al concorso potranno partecipare i corti con durata massima di 20 min. esclusi i titoli di testa e di coda, di qualsiasi genere (esclusi documentari e videoclip musicali) , a tema libero . La direzione del festival si riserva la facoltà di selezionare opere che sforano di poco il limite massimo consentito qualora vengano ritenute altamente valide.

Per motivi di praticità sarebbe opportuno dare sin da subito la possibilità all’organizzazione di effettuare il download del corto in concorso altrimenti sarà richiesto dalla direzione all’atto delle selezioni finali.
Una giuria di esperti , che saranno resi noti sul sito dell’ associazione www.periferiadellimpero.it visionerà le opere pervenute e selezionerà quelle ammesse alle serate finali. Gli autori delle opere finaliste saranno contattati dalla direzione del festival per l’ invio del file del corto, della domanda di partecipazione/liberatoria (scaricabile dal sito www.periferiadellimpero.it di una locandina e della sinossi del film, e per la loro eventuale presenza alle serate finali, saranno infatti ospitati a spese dell’organizzazione massimo due rappresentanti ( autore, attori, sceneggiatore, ecc. ) per opera, che potranno rispondere alle domande della stampa e del pubblico presente al termine della proiezione del loro corto in concorso.
Durante la manifestazione finale le opere selezionate saranno proiettate al pubblico e alla stampa, una nuova giuria di esperti (anch’essa resa nota sul sito dell’ associazione), assegnerà il “Premio al miglior corto della sedicesima edizione” e il “Premio autore emergente o opera prima trattasi di un autore/regista di età inferiore ai 30 anni oppure di qualsiasi età alla prima opera cinematografica (cortometraggio), in tal caso dovrà barrare l’apposita casella sulla domanda di iscrizione/liberatoria. Il pubblico presente a tutte le serate sarà fornito di un modello cartaceo con l’elenco di tutti i corti finalisti e potrà votare l’ opera ritenuta migliore, oppure attraverso una applicazione appositamente creata dall’organizzazione, il corto che avrà ottenuto il maggior numero di voti avrà assegnato il premio del pubblico .
Con il caricamento corretto (upload) del file del corto si è automaticamente iscritti al festival e quindi si dichiara di possedere i diritti di utilizzazione dell’opera sopra citata; di avere acquisito tutte le cessioni dovute dagli aventi diritto per l’utilizzo di eventuali musiche e/o immagini non originali presenti nell’opera;
di assumersi tutta la responsabilità per l'utilizzo delle musiche e delle eventuali immagini non originali presenti nell'opera; dii autorizzare la direzione del festival a proiettare l'opera suddetta al solo scopo di un corretto svolgimento della manifestazione, senza nulla a pretendere dalla direzione stessa.
Autori e/o produttori e/o soggetti che effettuano l'iscrizione su FilmFreeway e per conto di autori e produttori sono personalmente responsabili del contenuto delle opere che inseriscono e successivamente dichiarano, iscrivendosi a Periferia dell’impero film festival XVII edizione, di aver adempiuto a terzi qualsiasi obbligo derivante dal diritto d'autore.
È responsabilità di coloro che iscrivono le opere al Concorso assicurarsi di essere legittimamente autorizzati a farlo dagli eventuali titolari dei diritti sul materiale. Presentando un'opera al Concorso, si sollevano i responsabili di Periferia dell’impero film festival XVII edizione da ogni responsabilità in merito all'utilizzo dell'opera stessa e all'assegnazione dei premi.
Più di un film può essere presentato dalla stessa persona/azienda sul portale FilmFreeway.
Fictional works of any genre, made by authors of any nationality, preferably in Italian or otherwise subtitled in Italian, can participate in the festival. Works made before 2024 or that participated in previous editions will not be admitted to the competition.
Short films with a maximum duration of 20 min. excluding opening and closing credits, of any genre (excluding documentaries and music videos), with a free theme, can participate in the competition. The festival management reserves the right to select works that slightly exceed the maximum limit allowed if they are considered highly valid.

For practical reasons, it would be appropriate to immediately give the organization the possibility of downloading the short film in competition, otherwise it will be requested by the management at the time of the final selections.
A jury of experts, who will be announced on the association's website www.periferiadellimpero.it, will view the works received and select those admitted to the final evenings. The authors of the finalist works will be contacted by the festival management to send the file of the short, the application for participation/release (downloadable from the website www.periferiadellimpero.it of a poster and the synopsis of the film, and for their possible presence at the final evenings, in fact a maximum of two representatives (author, actors, screenwriter, etc.) per work will be hosted at the expense of the organization, who will be able to answer questions from the press and the public present at the end of the screening of their short in competition. During the final event the selected works will be screened to the public and the press, a new jury of experts (also announced on the association's website), will award the "Prize for the best short of the sixteenth edition" and the "Prize for an emerging author or first work" is an author/director under the age of 30 or of any age at their first cinematographic work (short film), in which case they must tick the appropriate box on the application for registration/release. The public present at all the evenings will be provided with a paper model with the list of all the finalist shorts and will be able to vote for the work deemed best, or through an application specifically created by the organization, the short that has obtained the highest number of votes will be awarded the audience prize.
With the correct upload of the short file you are automatically registered to the festival and therefore you declare that you own the rights to use the aforementioned work; that you have acquired all the transfers due from the rights holders for the use of any non-original music and/or images present in the work;
to assume full responsibility for the use of the music and any non-original images present in the work; to authorize the management of the festival to project the aforementioned work for the sole purpose of a correct execution of the event, without claiming anything from the management itself.
Authors and/or producers and/or subjects who register on FilmFreeway and on behalf of authors and producers are personally responsible for the content of the works they insert and subsequently declare, by registering for Periferia dell’impero film festival XVI edition, to have fulfilled any obligation deriving from copyright to third parties.
It is the responsibility of those who register works for the Competition to ensure that they are legitimately authorized to do so by any rights holders on the material. By submitting a work to the Competition, the managers of Periferia dell’impero film festival XVI edition are released from any liability regarding the use of the work itself and the awarding of prizes.
More than one film can be submitted by the same person/company on the FilmFreeway portal.
