Pelin Terzi is a dynamic personality in the world of dance and performative arts an artist who captivates international audiences with exceptional sensitivity, technical finesse, and a profound will for expression.
Born in Berlin and shaped by her Turkish heritage, she found her way into the world of Hip Hop through her brother at the age of 14. This early initiation into urban dance culture laid the foundation for an artistic practice that is as intuitive as it is reflective. For Pelin, dance became not only a form of expression but an existential tool: an outlet for personal experiences, a space for resilience, healing, and self-empowerment.
She took her first steps on the stages of urban dance competitions, celebrating national and international successes with the crew Team Recycled. Initially strongly rooted in Funk and Street styles, she gradually opened up to increasingly experimental movement approaches. Today, she perceives the body as an instrument of intuitive research, a medium through which individual and collective stories become visible and tangible.
Her choreographic signature is marked by a deep engagement with the body as a carrier of memory, resistance, and transformation. In her work, urban aesthetics, contemporary movement, and somatic practice merge into an artistic expression defined not by style but by attitude. She has choreographed for a variety of stage productions, musicals, and independent formats always driven by the ambition to create spaces for emotional depth, authenticity, and connection.
Parallel to her artistic practice, Pelin has been actively involved as a coach and mentor for many years. She supports aspiring dancers not only on a technical level but also specifically fosters their personal and artistic development. Her further education in Integrative Solution-Oriented Psychology (2016) serves as a central foundation: she works with a holistic approach that connects physical, mental, and emotional growth.
Her international engagements have taken her, among other places, as a visiting lecturer to Japan and South Korea, where she not only taught but also initiated intercultural artistic dialogues. As a performer, she has also been seen in Spain, Austria, and Hungary. This established her as a voice in the global dance scene whose work is equally artistic and pedagogical.
Pelin Terzi is currently a permanent member of the training team at the renowned Flying Steps Diploma in Berlin. Here she passes on her multi-layered experience and inspires young dancers to develop a reflected, independent movement practice. Her artistic work is characterized by seeking depth in the body, in history, and in the relationship to the other person, instead of exhausting itself in mere effects.
