We are excited to ring in our 3rd annual ShortFlix Film Fest open to adult (19+) and youth filmmakers (ages 13-18). Our goal is to offer another outlet for artistic expression and storytelling in addition to our regular live theatre offerings.

We invite filmmakers of all ages to create and share with us and have fun celebrating creativity. We hope you are as excited about the film festival as we are. Join us for prizes and networking opportunities.

Selected films will be exhibited January 24 for Adult Division and youth division, plus:

ShortFlix Fest Trophy
Audience Choice Award in each division
Opportunity for Best Film which includes a $100 cash prize in each division
Other prizes

GENERAL RULES:
You must submit your film, complete the online entry form, and pay the entry fee at the same time to be eligible.
Adult competition is ages 19+
Youth competition is open to filmmakers 13-18. Must be no older than 18 at the time of submission.
Shorts must be no longer than 12 minutes total running time.
Please submit via a password-protected streaming URL or FilmFreeway. If selected for the festival, you must provide a digital file.
We prefer shorts be premieres, but this is not required.
Please no features or pilots.
No explicit adult content.
No adaptations.
ShortFlix Film Fest reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject or disqualify any ineligible entries, without a refund.
Non-English films accepted with subtitles.

SELECTION:
The judges will use these considerations for film selection:
Story and Concept (50%): Strength of storytelling and uniqueness of concept.
Technical Execution (30%): The technical aspects of the film, including cinematography, sound design, editing, and overall production quality.
Impact and Originality (20%): The emotional impact of the film and its ability to leave a lasting impression including its potential to provoke thought, evoke emotions, or inspire discussion among viewers.
ShortFlix Film Fest explicitly disclaims any liability or responsibility for any comments, notes, or opinions expressed about a submission, whether by ShortFlix Film Fest or by its volunteers.
The judges’ decision is final.
Winners receiving cash prizes are solely responsible for payment of all applicable local, state, and federal taxes.

PERMISSIONS:
Films must be the original work of the applicants. Neither the Festival nor its jurists investigates or attests to the authenticity of an applicant’s statement of authorship or rights secured. By entering the competition, you represent that you have secured all necessary rights.
Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. ShortFlix Film Fest expressly disclaims all liability or responsibility for any violations of the foregoing.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Films that have not received a full color edit, or sound edit are eligible for submission. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to supply the Festival with their most recent version upon selection notification.
Once an entry payment has been received we cannot provide a refund. If a payment is disputed by an entrant for any reason, the entrant may be subject to any transaction fees or similar amounts incurred by ShortFlix Film Fest in connection with the dispute.
