Paulo Leão, also known as Paulo León, is an awarded actor, director and author, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
His first award as actor was at 17 years old, in 1978, on the movie 'Um Lugar de Paz' (A Place of Peace), at Rio de Janeiro Short Film Festival. At 18 years old wrote for the movie 'Utopia Atemporal' (Atemporal Utopy) his first screenplay. In 1985 he created the Teatro dos Sentidos (Theater of the Senses) method, in witch the audience experimented their six sens during the presentation. In 2001, he participated in a text reading session at the Lisbon Cinema and Television School, where he also promoted a one-day acting workshop for Portuguese actors. In the same year, he researched Flamenco music in the city of Seville, Spain. Some of his works in theater as an actor, author and director are the plays 'The Incredible History of the Noble Knight Errant and the Poor Fallen Girl' e 'Um Dia a Água Vai'. During last five decades Paulo has working in theater, cinema, music and television, with a lot of nominées and awards. In 2016 has being invited to participate as judge on Meters International Film Festival - NY. Since that year he has comming internationally awarded by his movies 'I Miss You', 'Happy Birthday' and 'Good Night'. During the covid pandemic Paulo Leão and his son Vitor Leão, inspired by the sighting of a UFO they began working on creating their original album 'Nas Estrelas' (By The Stars), with 14 instrumental songs and 3 video clips about interestelar voyages, which was completed at 2023 and published in 2024. For 2024 Paulo Leão is involved in his new projects, such as 'Hendrix!' (feature film), ‘Serguei - O Rock Sou Eu’ (documentary about the Brazilian singer), 'J'adore Travailler' and ‘The Woman With No Name’.
