I became interested in filmmaking after I found books about filmmakers and screenwriters, in the library of Aylesbury youth custody centre, during the late 80s. When I got released on parole from a 6 year sentence for GBH, I went to Battersea Basement Studios, a project for young offenders, and made my first 10 minute documentary about crime and environmental problems at Wandsworth Roundabout Underpass. I then went back to jail again for nearly 2 years, then came back to BBS and made a documentary about car crime. I went back to jail again for a year, and during this sentence I became a Christian and was released in 1992. A little while later I had a schizophrenic breakdown. I started going to church again regularly at the end of 1998, and since then I completed a couple of college courses and gained a City and Guilds and a HNC qualification in Film Production. I've made many short films now, including dramas, documentaries and a music video. And I've filmed lots of things like weddings, baptisms and pantomimes etc. I've also had 3 ebooks published and many articles, letters and poems. As a writer and filmmaker I want to evangelise and spread Gods love. Schizophrenia is a very disabling illness, but I've got big plans for the future and hope to make many more short films and one day make at least one micro budget feature film.
