Paul Haans made his first short film called 44/45 in 2010. Tim Haars played the lead role in this epic war story. The film was nominated and won the 'Best Film' award for young talent during the Rabobank Ronde Venen Festival. Paul's next project was 'Leven' (Life) with respected names like Peter Faber and Tim Haars. Leven was nominated by different festivals e.g. GoShort, ShortCutz Amsterdam and Euregion Film Festival.
After the successes of his first two films Paul decided that his next project should be a true story. The walk of life of Peter ter Horst, filled with drug abuse, is beautifully depicted in a short (documentary) style film. Paul's biggest project depicts the 'Bokkenrijders' (a group of outlaws from the South of the Netherlands in the 18th century). The lead role was played by Joes Brauers and Tygo Gernandt. Multiple film festivals decided to host and nominate this film.
