A Journey Through Immersive Narrative and Media Innovation
Kevin LeClair’s career is defined by a lifelong fascination with immersive storytelling and a versatile background that spans live performance, corporate communications, and independent digital production.
The Foundations of Immersion
Kevin began his career by creating high-impact local experiences. While directing a youth organization, he transformed a retail space into a "Safe Halloween" haunted forest, attracting over 1,500 visitors annually. During this formative period, he balanced his creative output—acting in and producing story lines for haunted hayrides—with high-energy performances for children's events, gaining unique insights into audience engagement from behind the mask.
Narrative Growth and Corporate Expertise
A natural storyteller, Kevin completed his first novel during college and quickly secured literary representation. His early writing career included a novel submission and a spec script for the Star Trek: Voyager franchise. Transitioning into the film industry in Toronto, he specialized in audience testing for cult classics like Ginger Snaps. This analytical approach to media led him to a senior role at a leading Canadian media placement agency. As Head of Corporate Communications, he managed national accounts for major brands like CBC, Staples, and Volkswagen, navigating the industry's shift from traditional media to digital platforms.
Adventures and Transmedia Innovation
In 2005, Kevin co-founded Be-communications to pioneer new ways of reaching audiences online. This led to the creation of Phyte.ca, a collaborative lifestyle blog and e-zine. His return to narrative production in 2006 saw the launch of AnteRockstar, an ambitious multi-platform web series that combined 30-minute episodes, vertical vignettes, and live events to explore the indie music industry.
Since 2012, Kevin has focused on complex, research-heavy projects that blend historical drama with interactive game play.
