Pamela Conley Ulich is an attorney, professor, author, and filmmaker whose work bridges storytelling, public service, and the pursuit of meaningful change. Born in Kansas, she followed her dream to California, where she has spent decades building a life dedicated to community, creativity, and impact.
Pamela served eight years on the Malibu City Council, including a term as Mayor, where she led with a focus on resilience, environmental stewardship, and strengthening community bonds. She currently serves on the Malibu Arts Commission, continuing her commitment to using the arts as a catalyst for connection and transformation.
With a distinguished legal career in the entertainment industry and as an educator teaching dealmaking in entertainment law, Pamela brings a unique perspective to her creative work—grounded in both real-world experience and a deep understanding of human stories.
Her filmmaking reflects a belief that storytelling can both bear witness and inspire action. Through her work, she explores themes of resilience, healing, faith, and the power of community in times of crisis.
At the heart of everything she creates is a simple but urgent mission: to help people come together, prepare for what lies ahead, and grow stronger together.
Her first documentary, "A Disaster Diary" which she wrote, directed, and edited, has garnered widespread recognition on the international and local film festival circuit, earning awards including LA Independent Women Film Awards, Paris Film Awards, London Movie Awards, Malibu International Film Festival, Los Angeles Reel Film Festival, FilmFestLA @ LA Live, the Women Empowerment Award at the Santa Barbara International Movie Awards, Florence Film Festival, and Golden State Film Festival, and has been recognized as a Finalist at the Independent Shorts Awards, a Semi-Finalist at the Austin International Art Festival and Dumbo Film Festival, and an Official Selection of the LA Independent Women Film Awards and the Hollywood International Indie Film & Screenplay Awards.
