"with pen dipped in wine, I bleed into view, do tears make the roses blossom blue? black drops of grief confess the same. I write to forget, yet sign my name."
Phoebe Michaelides is an award-winning, London-based playwright and psychotherapist, training in psychological theory and clinical practice.
With an interest in the complexities of the human experience, her work explores inner paradox, and the tension between fate and self-determination - drawing on Greek myth, relational psychology and lived experience.
Her debut play, Through the Grapevine, weaves the structure of ancient Greek tragedy with contemporary psychological realism, to examine themes of autonomy, legacy, and the cost of emotional honesty in a claustrophobic setting.
