I started writing spec teleplays for Star Trek: The Next Generation--none were produced--but the first "Yellow Alert" made it into the top 10 of 110 spec scripts left for the third season producer by the second season producer, and, as a result, I was allowed submit the latter three without representation--something almost unheard of at the time.
Somehow I maanged to write the ST:TNG specs while studying Electrical Engineering at CU Boulder, where after five years as student and just a handful of credits from graduating, I realized I didn't want to be an EE--yeah, I'm not too smart.
I dropped out for two years, drove a cab in Boulder CO, and when my Mom told me it was time for me to get my degree, I went to Metropolitan State University of Denver where I received BS's in Physics and Philosophy with a minor in Mathematics. I then went to Kansas State University where I received an MS in (Experimental High Energy) Physics and then to KU where I tried to get a PhD in Physics and wound up with an MA in Philosophy. I now live in Pocatello ID where I once again hope to get my PhD in Physics from Idaho State University--I'm working on doing a computational fluid dynamics model of the Proto-DUNE detector at CERN for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment.
In 2018 I started getting short stories published: "Angel of Death" (Moon Magazine), "Izzy Tells No Lies" (Fantasia Divinity and Alternative Anthologies), and "Clouds" (Rhetoric Askew).
My current writing focus is getting representation for my original TV pilot Project Ωmega and getting a spec back-door pilot for Supernatural in front of someone connected with the show.
When I have time-which is not very often right now--I am working on three novels, one of which, The Order of the Brotherhood, is a work of dystopian fiction set in a prison that investigates the value of democracy in an America that has largely forgotten it.
