As an starting filmmaker it was a dream come true to have our short fim selected for an international Festival, so our team were extremely excited about the news of the selection. The Philadelphia Latino Film Festival is a small festival, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in warmth, focus, and personality. Not only because of the diversity of it’s selected material, also because of the incredible staff and volunteers. From the incredible panels with professionals to the awesome after partys. This festival made us feel like we were part of the family.

It was a pleasure to be part of this festival. I was able to connect with other filmmakers, especially 3 from Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised, who flew in for the festival.

The screening of my short film was well attended and the quality of shorts showing during my slot was great.

They had great latin food at the networking events, latin music at the opening party and an easy atmosphere for people to socialize and get to know one another.

It was also a pleasure to be asked to do a film workshop for young filmmakers and they packed the workshop with enthusiastic young adults itching to make their own films and leave their mark on the world.

I only wish the festival was longer, but I am sure as it continues to grow that will not be an issue.

Un millones de gracias a phlaff. Los quiero mucho!

  • The 2018 edition of Philadelphia Latino Film Festival was really incredible! If you're wondering "is this festival going to be poorly attended?" The answer is no! All the films they selected were well done, and our studio members were proud to showcase their work alongside the other entries. Recommended! *****

While we were not able to fly out to see our selected short screen, we were very impressed by the festival's excellent communications and organization. The curating was varied and selections of high quality. We hope to be able to attend next year!

We enjoyed our stay at the festival - our short played along with several other shorts and the event space was well organized. The festival coordinators were very considerate and friendly. We would definitely go back to Philadelphia!
