Owen holds a BA Hons in Multimedia Journalism from Glasgow Caledonian University, weaving narratives across Scotland, England, and Ireland. Prior to pursuing an MA in Producing at the National Film and Television School, he contributed to documentaries and topical comedy programmes in Glasgow.
As a working-class, hearing-impaired, queer producer from the west of Scotland and a BBC Scholar, Owen is dedicated to empowering fellow "outsiders." His upcoming animation debut, a stop-motion musical featuring Sir Ian McKellen, highlights trans youth and drag celebration.
In addition to developing LGBTQIA+ projects in various mediums, including shorts, feature films, television, animation, and podcasts, Owen benefited from a year-long mentorship with Cameron McCracken, who recently retired.
