Now in its 4th season, Outdoor Shorts is an unforgettable event in one of the Hudson Valley’s most unique historic sites, the GARNER Historic District. A series of curated independent short films will be presented in a unique outdoor location on two evenings over a single weekend. (The same films will be shown each night.)

Food and beverage service from the on-site restaurant Hudson’s Mill and craft brewery, Industrial Arts Brewing will be available, as well.

While we usually host the event in multiple locations throughout the complex, this year’s program will take place in a single location to ensure safe physical distancing for all.

This year’s program subtitle is “This Is Now”, to address through film the voices heard around us at this unprecedented moment -- a moment charged with reckoning over health concerns, fear, isolation, racism and income inequality, to name a few; along with the importance of connection, appreciation of our loved ones, shared community, the need for humor, the need to bridge the divide, and the need for meaningful change. The selection team is giving particular, though not exclusive, consideration to filmmakers of color, at a time when there is a clear necessity to level the playing field in all areas, including the film industry.
