Out For Blood is a celebration of terror, transgression, and the vibrant spectrum of queer identity. We’re dedicated to showcasing bold, original, and unapologetically queer visions within the horror genre - whether they make us scream, laugh, squirm, or see the world in a chilling new light.

Our mission is threefold:

Representation: We want to see a diverse range of queer identities on screen, both in front of and behind the camera.

Empowerment: We champion the work of queer filmmakers and creatives whose voices enrich and expand the boundaries of horror.

Community: We strive to create inclusive, welcoming spaces where film lovers of all backgrounds can gather, connect, and revel in the thrill of horror storytelling.

Launched in Cambridge, Out For Blood has since expanded to Leeds - and our reach continues to grow, with more locations across the UK on the horizon. In 2022, we were honoured to be named one of the best horror film festivals in the world by Dread Central, and - so far as anyone can tell - we were the world’s first film festival entirely dedicated to queer horror.

We welcome submissions from filmmakers who identify anywhere within the queer community, as well as films that center queer characters, narratives, or themes. All forms are accepted - including fiction, documentary, experimental work, and music videos. If it’s queer and it’s horror, we want to see it.

Please note that all festival dates are subject to change. Any adjustments will be communicated promptly to all relevant parties.

Join us - and bring your most haunting, heartfelt, or blood-soaked queer creations to the screen.

Please note that these awards may change depending on the quality of submissions. The festival reserves the right to add more awards depending on the quality of submissions.

What a beautiful festival that intersects our favourite worlds of expression. The leadership and programming team always exuded such warmth and genuine care for each project, and it meant a lot for us to screen "Hemorrhage" this year! What an incredible initiative! Would definitely recommend.
