SUBMISSION RULES & REGULATIONS - OFF (Ortona Film Festival)
Art. 1 - ELIGIBLE CATEGORIES & REQUIREMENTS
The following categories of digital works are eligible for the competition:
• Feature Film (First Feature)
• Short Films (maximum running time of 20 minutes)
• Animated Short Films
• School Short Films
Eligibility Conditions:
• Works produced before January 1, 2024, are not eligible.
• The theme is open.
• Each director may submit a maximum of two works.
• Non-Italian language works must have Italian or English subtitles to be considered for selection.
• For Italian language works, providing a version with English subtitles is preferred.
Art. 2 - SUBMISSION FEES & DEADLINES
Submissions open on January 06, 2025. The final deadline to submit all works is May 20, 2026. Entry fees vary depending on the submission period and are non-refundable under any circumstances.
• Until January 20, 2025:
◦ Feature Film (First Feature): €20.00 | Short Films/School Shorts/Animated Shorts: €10.00.
• Until January 31, 2026:
◦ Feature Film (First Feature): €25.00 | Short Films/School Shorts/Animated Shorts: €12.00.
• Until February 28, 2026:
◦ Feature Film (First Feature): €30.00 | Short Films/School Shorts/Animated Shorts: €15.00.
• Until March 31, 2026:
◦ Feature Film (First Feature): €35.00 | Short Films/School Shorts/Animated Shorts €20.00
• From April 1, 2026:
◦ Feature Film (First Feature): €40.00 | Short Films/School Shorts/Animated Shorts: €25.00
Art. 3 - PAYMENT & SUBMISSION PROCESS
The submission of all materials, at the entrants' expense, is possible starting from October 15, 2025.
Payment Methods:
• PayPal: to the festival's email address.
• PayPal link: paypal.me/unaltroteatro
• Bank Transfer: specifying "Submission OFF - Ortona Film Festival" and the competition category in the reason for payment.
Submission Methods:
• Upload via WeTransfer (recommended) to the festival's email address.
• Via digital platforms such as FilmFreeway.
• For each submitted work, entrants must provide: a synopsis, English dialogue list, director's photo, 2 high-resolution film stills, a poster, and a trailer.
Art. 4 - SELECTION & JURY
• A programming committee, appointed by the festival direction, will select the works.
• A jury composed of professionals from the cinema and cultural sectors will evaluate the finalist works and assign the awards.
• The names of the jury members will be announced through the press.
• The decisions of the programming committee and the jury are final and cannot be appealed.
Art. 5 - AWARDS & SPECIAL MENTIONS
The following cash prizes will be awarded:
• Best Short Film: €1000.00
• School Short Film Award: €500.00
Special mentions will also be awarded for: Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Poster.
Cash prizes must be collected within 90 days of the official notification.
Art. 6 - GENERAL CONDITIONS
• Notification: The authors of the selected works will be officially contacted with the screening date.
• Screening Materials: If a film is selected, it must be provided in DCP format. It must also be supplied with the required subtitles (Italian for foreign films, English for Italian films).
• Promotional Use: By submitting, entrants grant the festival the right to use excerpts, stills, and information from the film for promotional purposes.
• Archive: Submitted works will not be returned but will be kept in the festival's archive for cultural purposes.
• Copyright: The participant guarantees that their work does not infringe on any third-party rights and that they have fulfilled all obligations regarding copyright.
• Changes to Regulations: The organization reserves the right to modify the regulations, with any changes being published on the official website. Participation in the festival implies full acceptance of these regulations.
• Privacy: Personal data provided will be processed in accordance with current legislation (Legislative Decree 196/2003 and subsequent amendments) exclusively for festival purposes
