  • I was very happy to take part in the Oran Arab Film Festival. I want to thank the festival’s organizers for providing accommodation and transportation for everyone, even for guests coming from far corners of the world. The Algerian authorities also offered an escort throughout the festival days to make it easier for artists to get to the screenings etc....

Perhaps the schedule was a bit tight several films were shown at the same time, which caused the audience to be somewhat divided. Still, the crowd was distinguished and deeply cinematic, as reflected in the insightful discussions that followed the screenings, showing the strong film culture of the Oran audience. Overall, I’m delighted with the experience. It’s a festival I highly recommend to filmmakers from across the Arab world, especially those whose works explore themes related to the Arab region.
