Quirky filmmaker with long hair and weird ideas
Olivia Dance grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she attended acting classes and studied classical piano. After high school, she pursued a degree in documentary filmmaking at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television.
At age 19, due to the war, she fled to Prague, Czech Republic, where she is now based. That same year, she enrolled in a narrative filmmaking course at Prague Film School, writing, directing, and editing two short films: "On the Internet, Nobody Knows You're a Dog" and "Lice".
In 2024, Olivia earned a British-accredited bachelor’s degree in Creative Media Production. Alongside working as an assistant director, actor, and music composer, she is currently in post-production on her latest short film, "The Egg".
As her short films make the rounds on the international festival circuit, Olivia balances her time working on set, interning in an equipment room, and developing a new script. Passionate about green filmmaking, Olivia works to implement sustainable practices in all her productions. She is also open to new projects and collaborations, taking on roles mentioned in her resume, as well as exploring new opportunities..
