Olivia Dance grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine, attending acting classes and learning classical piano. After high school, she went on to study documentary filmmaking at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television.
At age 19, due to the war, she fled to Prague, Czech Republic, where she is currently based. That same year, she attended the narrative filmmaking course at Prague Film School, where she wrote, directed, and edited two short films, "On the Internet, Nobody Knows You're a Dog" and "Lice." Her short film "Lice" was selected for the Short. Sweet. Film Fest, Lift-Off Global Network, and Absurd Film Festival of 2024.
Olivia has recently completed her bachelor's studies with her diploma short film, "The Egg" which is currently in post-production.
